GarageBand: Music & Emotion

Group 1: Exciting

I thought that the outcome of the music had a good, urban upbeat to it, but it didn’t necessarily evoke excitement to me; instead, it made me imagine someone grooving down the street. Also it could’ve been shorter and had more layers and variations of songs compiled to make it more exciting to listen to.

Group 2: Happy

I felt like the music gave a country sense instead of a happy tone to it, even though it did sound bouncy, goofy and bubbly towards the end. At some parts, it could even be considered funny. By the middle, towards the end, it started to feel long because it was one song only, without sound effects, etc. Also, some of the parts didn’t really seem like it fit in.

Group 3: Horror

(Own Group) I thought I could extend the music longer as well as add more intensity and suspense to the sound. I also felt like it was more spacey somewhere in the middle, instead of horror. I could’ve repeated less of the effects too, and put more music as well.

Group 4: Adventure

I thought the music did have an emphasized adventure tone to it, but as it progresses, it became awkward, and had some thing that didn’t really fit into the whole adventure theme, lacking continuity.

Group 5: Relaxing

The music did evoke strong relaxation outcome, although the bridge from one song to another wasn’t connected smoothly, enabling the audience to know the change of songs. It was really serene, calming music. More effects would’ve made it better as well.

Group 6: Comedy

I thought that the comedy group did really good. it was really hilarious, and most of the effects and songs seemed to fit in. It had a strong start to it, but it wasn’t very continuos, and the comedy didn’t really show in the middle. It was a little long, with obvious transitions.

How Technology Works – Liquid Crystal Display TV(LCD)

> When was the Technology Developed?

LCD TV’s, or Liquid Crystal Display Televisions were developed in the early 2000’s, and has been developing rapidly through these recent years. Huge electronic comapnies has adopted the new LCD Technology and has produced a wide range of products that uses LCD around 2004.

>Where would you find this Technology?

You could find LCD TV’s in almost every country in the world nowdays. In the recent 2000’s, almost all electronical objects that has a screen, has LCD technology, which makes it common and can be found easily almost everywhere, as they produce most, if not all Televisions using LCD screen.

>Do you personally own a device with this technology?

Yes, I do happen to own a range of devices in my house that uses this specific Technology. The computers and Televeisions in my house do use LCD screens.

>What are the main uses of this Technology?

LCD is used mainly as screens in various types of electronical devices. It is used most commonly as the screens for the new aquos or other big, flat screened TV’s created in the early 2000’s, and it has developed to be used as computer screens and others, which adds it to the main uses of this Technology, LCD.

>What other uses of this Technology can you think of?

I think that LCD TV aren’t only used as computer, or plasma TV screens, but it is used in almost all the devices you can find that has a screen, such as digital watches and digital alarm clocks. It’s sufficient functioning makes it more sophisticated and commonly used in this current time.

>Do you feel that this Technology would still be used 10 years from now, or be replaced with something better?

From the view of how rapid and widely ranged technologies change these days, I highly doubt that LCD would still be used. I think that by then, it would be developed so much from the time it was produced, that it would be another aspect of Technology that would eventually be replaced with something so different, but based on it. It would probably be still a part of something, but not as commonly used it is right at this period of time.

Technology in Education – Assignment #1

Question #1 – How is technology used in education? (overall)

In our education, technology is a big helping tool to all of us because a type of technology, the internet, could help us during research projects for information on the topic, and or pictures. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the others could also help for homework and projects, and I personally find the exsistence of technology around us save time when doing projects and homework, as well as neater results.

Question #2 - How do you personally use technology in aiding your learning at NJIS (during school, homework, etc)?

Techonology, mainly the computer or laptop, helps me personally when doing homework and in school primarily because I personally don’t really like to write on paper – I usually type things, such as english homework, Social Studies research projects, Science write-ups and many more. During research projects, the internet is a big help to me, finding pictures and information.

Question #3 – Does technology improve your education or create more complexity (therefore becoming a negative aspect)?

Based on my self, I highly doubt that techonlogy is a negative aspect of education, sure it has it’s negative sides onto it, but I think that it’s advantages are more convincing than it’s disadvantages. It saves us much time, and results in better products for our project or homework, less complication and lack of neatness doesn’t occur that much either if we use technology the right way.

Hello World…

Just a shout out from me saying hello to anyone viewing my blog right now.

Well…This is Fidella…I live in Jakarta, Indonesia and I attend an international school here in Jakarta. I live with my family not too far away from school. I’m chinese indonesian just like many people are here in the northern part of Jakarta. I don’t really like the environment here with all the pollution and traffic everywhere, but there are a whole lot of malls here!

I spend most of my week here in school, but outside school, I usually hang out with my friends in the mall or in a club here in Kelapa Gading called Cassablanaca Club. I enjoy arts, both fine arts and drawing, or painting and the others. My favorite sports are swimming n badminton, but i find hockey and basketball okay as well. Listening to music, chatting in the net, watching TV, and shopping are also my parts of my hobby. I adore animals, especially dogs and dolphins. I get creeped out easily, and I’m a christian.

Basically, I’m just an ordinary city girl in this extrodinary world!
